ARCHDIOCESE OF DENVER

Catholic Schools

Proverbs tells us, “Train the young in the way they should go; even when old, they will not swerve from it.” (Prov. 22:6) The formative years of elementary and secondary education offers parents the best opportunity to prepare their children to answer the universal call of holiness. What better way to do this than through Catholic education. The 35 schools of the Archdiocese of Denver seek to provide rigorous academics, engaging extracurriculars, and a Catholic environment to bring students into a relationship with Jesus Christ. We form intentional disciples, young men and women who are prepared to be saints and leaders in our communities.

As our National Catholic Schools Week begins to wind down, we want to take a moment to give a special shout-out to those who lead our schools with great faith - our pastors, priests and principals! We are so blessed to have these beautiful witnesses of faith in our schools (so many not pictured, but still loved and appreciated!). Please pray for our priests and principals and other administrators. Their job is not easy, but they do it because of their yes to Gods call. God bless them all!

"Catholic schools gave me the tools to recognize God's presence and respond to his call."

Deacon John Ferraro's life has been deeply shaped by Catholic schools, from his early days as a student at Guardian Angels Catholic School in Denver to his work as a teacher at Regis Jesuit High School in Aurora and now as a deacon and hospital chaplain.

As we celebrate #CatholicSchoolsWeek, his story is a powerful testament to the lifelong impact of faith-based education!

“It is the supreme art of the teacher to awaken joy in creative expression and knowledge.”- Albert Einstein

Today, as part of our weeklong celebration of Catholic Schools, we thank our wonderful TEACHERS who share their faith, their knowledge and their love with our students. Without them, we would be nothing. Please keep our teachers in your prayers. Theirs is not an easy job. In fact, their work is their MISSION. Thanks be to God!

Teachers are amazing!!

We love our teachers!!

RE: Upholding to the fullest extent the US Constitution Fourteenth Amendment’s Equal Protection Clause that offers blanket protection of equal education and federally funded programs for all USA citizens, Affirmative Action was overturned in the USA in 2023. Challenges exist to provide equal programs and equal funding for all USA, ethnicities and races, equally. Dear Congressman Doug Lamborn: Thank you for your great work. USA is a better country with better race relations because of your research and writing. May I respectfully raise a couple of questions about what Colorado Congress is doing to end Affirmative Action and Equalize Ethnic Based Programs for all ethnicities in the USA? I am a natural born US Citizen who tries to offer my ideas to my Congressional Representatives along the CIVIC duty line of "of the people, by the people, for the people" and exercise my First Amendment Rights. Significance to Education, federal and state funded programs: The most important point made by the SCOTUS June 29, 2023 decision is the upholding to the fullest extent the Fourteenth Amendment’s Equal Protection Clause that offers blanket protection of equal education and federally funded programs for all USA citizens, Affirmative Action was overturned in the USA. In these cases the admissions systems based on an illegitimate form of “Affirmative Action” used by Harvard College and the University of North Carolina, two of the oldest institutions of higher learning in the United States, were determined to be unlawful under the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment. Furthermore, it was determined by the SCOTUS that any preferential treatment for admission was deemed outmoded and inappropriate. U.S.A. education is to be offered to all U.S.A. citizens in accordance with the intent and purpose of the Fourteenth Amendment Equal Protection Clause (Students for Fair Admissions, Inc. v. President and Fellows of Harvard College Nos. 20-1199 & 21-707, 2023 WL 4239254, at *105 (U.S. June 29, 2023) (Jackson, J., dissenting) reversal of Grutter v. Bollinger, 539 U.S. 306 (2003)) ALL ethnicities now need to be declared in the USA. Presently, the USA government forms and applications only provide a minimal description of race or Hispanic/Latino ethnicity (none of the other 300+ ethnicities are listed). In Students for Fair Admissions, Inc v. Harvard (2023) Asians: Northern, Eastern, Middle Eastern, Southern; and European-mixed ethnicities were not provided with Equal Protection. "yes, no" question eliminate all other ethnicities from equal opportunity for federal and state consideration of funding and language translation. It is a real problem. Other refugees are arriving in USA and attending schools without language accommodation other than general ESL or ELL. However, Hispanics are being provided with the highest levels of spending supporting language and general ethnic expression programs. My request is, does your work provide Supreme Court level investigation, audit, and proposal for budgets and programs in the USA that are offered equally to all ethnicities for all areas of life that the previous funding for affirmative action was provided? Is the W. K. Kellogg Foundation able to now include European, Canada, USA, ethnicities in your programming and funding? Is W. K. Kellogg able to petition with USA Congress and Supreme Court to have all USA federal forms accommodate all ethnicities. Could the USA federal forms eliminate the unconstitutional "Hispanic": "Yes" or "No"; "Hispanic White (yes) or (no); Hispanic Black (yes) or (no) and offer all ethnicities? Could federal funding for Hispanics, and ALL ethnicities, be audited and reported to USA Congress and SCOTUS and then compared to see who is USA spending money on? It appears that Hispanics are gaining two and three times more federal and state funding than any other ethnic groups in the USA. The USA Constitution mandates evidence of equal spending. The present-day US Department of Labor and Statistics does not offer this audit and reporting at this time. Who is responsible to change the federal forms, to offer federal and state language translation and educational programs for all ethnicities equally, to offer ethnic descriptions for every ethnicity from Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, the Americans and Oceania? This is an urgent need. Thank you. ReferencesHowe, A. (2023). Praying for the wonderful students, teachers, and staff at our Catholic schools! ❤

Praying for a miracle that Guardian Angels Catholic School is saved 🙏

Yes, keep Guardian Angels Catholic School in your prayers.

Only if they’re rich of course….. the under privileged Catholic Students get excommunicated because they can’t afford to get a catholic education anymore and the schools that were affordable get shut down…

What parents are saying about our schools

“We had other schools that were closer to us that would've been way more convenient. But we chose Catholic School because we absolutely love the administration, my son absolutely gushes about the current classes he's taken, his friends, the curriculum, and the subject matter and his teacher..”
Parent of an Enrolled Student
" I wouldn't want my kids to go anywhere else for school because this place aligns with my family values and I know I can trust the curriculum here."
Parent of an Enrolled Student
“Our kids started in public school and we always had a desire for Catholic school and we ended up switching because we just wanted that extra part of our faith and that environment for our children to have the Catholic faith be a part of their day to day. And that was something they desired as well.”
